Expectations of Students

The following is a list of the expectations of an AVID Student:

 • Take Cornell Notes (students will learn this system) in each academic class.

 • Be positive, encouraging and supportive of their classmates.

 • Act as a role model in behavior for peers.

 • Understand the importance of learning and of achieving academic success.

 • Demonstrate commitment to themselves and to their studies.

 • Learn by asking questions (inquiry), rather than having answers provided for them.

 • Always try their best.

• Improve upon current grades and/or maintain a C grade.

• Maintain an AVID binder with Cornell notes.

• Prepare and participate in the fortnightly tutorials.

• Participate in extra-curricula activities whenever possible.

• Maintain a good and regular attendance at school.

• Complete required homework.

• Arrive at School "prepared to learn".
