PDHPE Courses 

Physical Activity and Sports Studies (PASS)

 

  • Offered to Year 9 and 10 students as a 100 or 200 hour course
  • The aim of PASS is to enhance students' capacity to particpate effectively in physical activity and sport, leading to improved quality of life for themselves and others.
  • Students wll have the opportunity to particapate in the following areas;

 

Life saving, Bronze medallion, First Aid, Fitness testing, Rythmic gymnastics, Human body systems,

 

Team games, Sociology, Event management, Sports coaching, Outdoor education and Orienterring.

 

 Marine Studies

  • Offered to Year 9 and 10 students as a 100 or 200 hour course
  • The aim of Marine Studies is to develop in students a capacity to design, produce, evaluate, sustain, use and manage marine and water related environments
  • Students will be given the opportunity to learn about the following topics;

 

First Aid, Snorkelling, Our Oceans, Benthos to Pelagic Sharks, Why Water Moves, Seamanship,

Bronze Medallion, Marine Maintenance, Mammals of the Sea, Coastal Navigation and Shipwrecks of the World.
